Palabras Útiles en Inglés: Speed

Hi, I’m Joel from InglesAvanzado.org. In this lesson, I want to talk about a useful word, the verb “speed” –or “to speed.”

As a noun, “speed” means velocidad, but I’m going to use it as a verb in this lesson. So, as a verb, “to speed” means “exceder el limite de velocidad.” So, we’re using it in the context of driving a car on the street or on the highway.

So, when you drive faster than the legal limit, then you are speeding. So, I’m going to give you some example sentences:

“It’s not a good idea to speed.”

“A policeman might pull you over if you are speeding.”

“If you speed, you’ll get a ticket.”

“I almost never speed.”

Okay, well I hope that these example sentences were helpful and that now you have a new word in your English vocabulary.

So don’t forget InglesAvanzado.org for more lessons, my mp3 conversational course for download, and native English speakers who you can practice with and get corrections.

Thanks for watching.
