Errores Comunes en Inglés: Make a mistake vs Do a mistake

Hi, I’m Joel from InglesAvanzado.org. In this lesson, I’m going to talk about a common mistake that a lot of English students make. The mistake is to say, “to do a mistake” instead of “to make a mistake.”

So, the correct way is “to make a mistake” – “cometer un error.” So, let me give you some example sentences:

“I make a lot of mistakes.”

“If you’re the president, you shouldn’t make many mistakes.”

“My parents are not perfect. Sometimes they make mistakes.”

“If you want to be a pilot, it’s important not to make mistakes.”

Alright, so I hope that this helped you. So just remember, whenever you’re practicing your English, you need to say, “make a mistake” –not “do a mistake.”

Don’t forget to go to my website InglesAvanzado.org for more lessons, my mp3 conversational course for download, and you can also schedule a private English lesson with me or some other English teachers to start practicing your English and improving.

Thanks for watching.
